I recently got to do my first ever book cover illustration! This will be the new cover for Avi’s young adult historical fiction novel, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, published by Schoolastic.

Thanks to Jen Linnan for snagging me the job, and Natalie Sousa for being a great AD :)

I’ll maybe do a process post on this later this week.

To debut THIS WEEKEND at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival!
Finnegan Strappe and The Claw of The Earth
If there is an easier way to gain forbidden knowledge and ancient power Finnegan Strappe doesn’t know it. Instead he is caught in a tit-for-tat game of bleed-and-seek, questing his life away for the chance of gaining sublime skills of sorcery in the name of a creature with dubious motives and evil secrets. The Gamayun’s quests are dangerous, but with the promise of power, Finnegan Strappe is willing to play the game that he will only lose once.
8.5″x11″, 40 pages, full color
$8.00

I’ve been working on this project for months and months! This is the first issue of my three issue crowd-funded comic starring Finnegan Strappe. I’m really excited to see it in the hands of others!

Silhouette demons - another set of 2.5 by 3.5 inch miniatures. The one in the Elizabethan ruff and the two Edwardians (middle) are my favorites.

Also, hello, recent followers! Where’d you babies come from?
