To debut THIS WEEKEND at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival!
Finnegan Strappe and The Claw of The Earth
If there is an easier way to gain forbidden knowledge and ancient power Finnegan Strappe doesn’t know it. Instead he is caught in a tit-for-tat game of bleed-and-seek, questing his life away for the chance of gaining sublime skills of sorcery in the name of a creature with dubious motives and evil secrets. The Gamayun’s quests are dangerous, but with the promise of power, Finnegan Strappe is willing to play the game that he will only lose once.
8.5″x11″, 40 pages, full color
$8.00

I’ve been working on this project for months and months! This is the first issue of my three issue crowd-funded comic starring Finnegan Strappe. I’m really excited to see it in the hands of others!

The Smut Peddler Pre-Order Project is now live!

What is Smut Peddler?

In 2003 a black-and-white, anthology minicomic called Smut Peddler was released by Saucy Goose Press. It contained “sex-positive, female-friendly erotic comics from the best and the brightest in the independent small press publishing world,” and participants included Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), Layla Lawlor (Raven’s Children) Sean Bieri (Jape), and Tom Beland (True Story, Swear to God). It was a fantastic series of comics, with three issues published before its extended hiatus.

This project has pulled Smut Peddler out of the mothballs and once again gifted the world with quality filth, but in the format of a square-bound, standard-sized, black-and-white book. The new Smut Peddler contains over 350 PAGES of lady-driven dirty comics.

This pre-order event will not only put excellent comics in your hands, it will also determine the bonuses of SP’s authors. They’ve already been paid for their contributions, but the more money this Kickstarter makes, the more money they get.

Who’s participating?

Hey folks!

Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales” (a comic anthology my brother Shaggy and I have a story in) is fresh from the printers and available to order at the anthology’s bigcartel shop. We had a lot of fun with this one, “Tatterhood” is a truly bizarre story to begin with, and coupled with my brother’s writing and my cartooning I think we really did it some justice.

This here is a 4 page sample of our 16 page comic, hope you enjoy it! You can read the rest of our story (along with 200 pages of other fairy-tale-comic-goodness) as either a digital PDF or printed book through the anthology’s Bigcartel shop.

Cheers!

If you don’t read this comic… WHY NOT?

http://fishbonescomic.com/

No, but for real. Fishbones is a badass comic about “growing up, friendship, and sometimes the mob.” Written by Jisuk Cho and illustrated by Yuki S., this comic has beautiful writing, hilarious characters, and some of the most perfect art I have ever seen, and every page leaves me wanting more! If you’re reading this, you have too much time on your hands anyway, so take a few minutes and go peruse the best of the best!

Waaahh, thank you for the kind words! ;_;

Seeing as we don’t have any men around the house, we are sometimes forced to do dirty work on our own.

… we have really weird art around our house.

Frilly costumes! Ornate attack shouts! Magical activation jewellery! All 24 pages of Magical Girls are now online, and it’s probably the world Lono wishes the main Spera story was. Follow high school students Pira and Lono as they uncover the nefarious schemes of the Starless, all while studying for tests and reading comic books.

Magical Girls was illustrated by Victoria Grace Elliott, who is part of a magical girl group project called Pretty Clover Knights. If you like shoujo, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura and other cartoons and comics in the magical girl genre, we hope you’ll check out Magical Girls!

As a special bonus we have a wallpaper of the above image up for download on the comic’s first page.

Here’s the first page from Clothes Shopping, a two-page Spera short from 2010 illustrated by HamletMachine. This was basically how I learned I don’t know how to write gag comics. For the second page and its punchline, just follow the link.
